The exhibition unravels the layers in ideological thinking regarding gender roles and identities where memory plays a key role in reassessing the situatedness based on patriarchy. The fulcrum of the exhibition are the community participation films created with women in the region.

Jim Lambie’s floor based artwork, Zobop is an ongoing series dating back to 1999. Like the rhythm of Bebop or Rebop, a style of jazz from the 1940s, Lambie’s Zobop too visually evokes a sense of unpredictable progressions. The coloured vinyl strips seamlessly cover walls, staircases and floors, often taking the shape of the space, and their scale and vibrant colours intrigue the viewers to intuitively move with the stripes.”
